Welcome to our Cultural Exchange Program FAQ section! We understand that you may have specific questions about the student application process, program details, or any other aspects of our exciting exchange program. We're here to provide you with all the answers you need to embark on this enriching journey.

Oaxaca is a tourist and academic destination of excellence. We have a network of host families, some with more than 20 years of experience.

Have certain requirements, such as comfortable rooms with access to a bathroom in a safe and familiar environment. In addition, the houses must be in a walking distance so that students can walk to their school destinations. These neighborhoods must be safe, such as with well-lit streets, traffic, and some type of police or security surveillance.

Students and residents decide their activities. These are activities not scheduled by the program. However, suggestions are made to them, such as going out with their host family or going out with their cultural exchange friend, or they are given a list of possible activities (visits to markets, squares, cultural or gastronomic centers, etc.).

Excellent comments, always very positive! Student Teachers know that there is open communication with their host families and with the GSE team for any situation, doubt, or comment. If, for any reason, the student teacher does not feel comfortable or safe in the assigned house, another family is found for them. Always thinking about the safety of the them. Knowledge of the host country language is preferable, but not essential for most destinations. However, we do encourage teachers to work on their language skills prior to departure as this will help them to settle in more easily.

Generally, public transport is not of high quality, but it is very efficient and cheap. The use of public transport is explained and taught to them. Although it is recommended to use taxis as it is an economical service, The cost of a taxi is approximately $5.
